FIRE BUGGIE

Pump Application: High pressure pumps available in two popular sizes.     These fire pumps are designed for heavy duty and are suitable for fire fighting duties and high pressure wash downs of equipment or farmyards.     The pumps have a discharge with three outlets for multiple fire hoses, one of the 25mm outlets is connected to a 36m hose and reel.     With rapid self priming capabilities and fitted with either a reliable diesel or petrol engine, which ensures that the unit will start and operate correctly when you want it.    Enclosed in a sturdy, heavy duty frame and mounted on pneumatic wheels for ease of manoeuvring the pump close to the source of water.    Complete with a 5m suction hose fitted with camlock fittings for a quick connection to the pump and also fitted with a heavy duty brass foot valve.     These pumps are easily maintained and built with quality parts for a long service life.   Performance data: Performance curves are based on a kinematic viscosity value of 1mm²/s and a density of 1000 Kg/m³ at 20ºC. -          Flow rates up to 28 m³/h -          Heads up to 85m -          Suction heads up to 5m -          Fluids must be clean and free from suspended abrasive particles -          Maximum fluid temperature: +35ºC. -          Maximum ambient temperature: +40ºC. -          Maximum allowable pressure in casing: 8 Bar -          Rotational speed: Nominal speed 3000rpm, maximum speed 3600rpm   Engine: Engine options available are in diesel and petrol from the following manufacturers. Yanmar diesel: 4.8 to 6.8hp air-cooled direct fuel injected diesel engine, with low vibration levels   Installation: For maximum efficiency, the pump should be positioned as close as possible to the source of water.    This set up is ideal for use with a swimming pool/water tank or dam.    Note, that if used for taking water from a dam then care should be taken to keep the suction strainer off the bottom to prevent the ingress of dirt into the system.    Keep the fire buggie in a horizontal position.    These self priming pumps require water in the pump case only for the initial pumping operation.     No water is necessary for subsequent pumping when the casing contains water.      The other 25mm outlet has been fitted with a bypass valve i.e. to return water to the source if the main hosereel is shut off.       Alternatively, a second optional hose can be fitted to this outlet but care needs to be taken to never let the pump operate with all outlets closed (shut off head), this could damage the pump.      A better option would be to use the 40mm discharge port for additional fire fighting hoses if so required and keep the bypass fully or partially open to never reach the shut off head condition.   Caution: These pumps should never be run dry!    

FIRE TANK

These self priming pumps require water in the pump case only for the initial pumping operation.    No water is necessary for subsequent pumping when the casing contains water.   To recharge the tank, it is only a simple matter of running the suction hose supplied with the unit to a source of clean water.    Make sure that the suction height is no more than 5m – a shorter suction distance will speed up the recharging of the tank.    With a build in bypass system to prevent shutoff head conditions.   Caution: These pumps should never be run dry!
